Philips Hue will soon be selling a device to turn ‘dumb’ light switches into smart ones. This is announced by Signify via Hue’s Twitter account.
The device ensures that Hue’s smart lights are still accessible via the app when turned off via switches.
At the moment, pressing the switch ensures that no power flows to the lamps, so that they cannot be found in the app.
The ‘wall switch module’ must be mounted behind the existing switch. The module will be available in Europe from spring. Americans have to wait until the summer.
