Southwest Monsoon Impacts Western Luzon
The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is currently affecting the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon, bringing the possibility of isolated rain showers, according to a forecast released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday.
Regional Weather Outlook
Residents in the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan should be prepared for partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. PAGASA warns that severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods or landslides in these areas.
Meanwhile, the easterlies are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Caraga and the Davao Region. Similar to luzon, the potential for flash floods and landslides exists during severe thunderstorm activity.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country can anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm development.Again, severe thunderstorms pose a risk of flash floods and landslides.
