Habagat to⁣ Bring Isolated Rains Over⁤ Parts of Luzon

Southwest Monsoon Impacts Western Luzon

The Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat, is currently affecting the western sections of ⁣Northern and Central ‍Luzon,​ bringing⁣ the possibility of ‌isolated rain showers, according to a forecast‍ released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday.

Regional Weather Outlook

Residents in the Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan should be prepared for partly‍ cloudy to cloudy skies​ with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. PAGASA warns that severe thunderstorms could trigger flash⁢ floods or⁤ landslides ​in these areas.

Meanwhile, the easterlies are expected to bring partly cloudy to ⁢cloudy skies⁣ with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Caraga and the Davao ⁢Region. Similar to‌ luzon,the potential for flash floods and​ landslides exists during severe thunderstorm activity.

Metro Manila and⁣ the rest of the country can anticipate partly ⁢cloudy to cloudy skies with ⁤isolated rain showers or⁢ thunderstorms due ⁤to localized thunderstorm development.Again, severe thunderstorms pose a risk⁢ of flash floods and landslides.

Coastal Waters and Sunrise/sunset

Coastal waters are currently‌ moderate ​in the ​western⁣ section of northern‍ Luzon,while conditions are slight to moderate in the rest of the archipelago. Sunrise occurred at 5:44 a.m. today, and sunset is expected at 6:04 p.m.

Tropical​ Storm Tapah Update

As of 3:00 a.m. today,​ Tropical storm Tapah (formerly known as Lannie while within the Philippine Area of Responsibility ‍or PAR) was located 640 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The storm currently packs maximum sustained winds of⁢ 75 km/h near⁤ the ⁤center, with gusts reaching up to 9 km/h. Tapah is moving west northwestward at a speed of ⁢15 km/h.
