Philippines Launches War Against Communism, Duterte: Forget Human Rights, That’s My Order

SERAMBINEWS.COM – At least 9 people were killed and 6 were detained in the scope of “operations against communists” by security forces in the Philippines.

This was reported by the Turkish News Agency, Anadolu Agency, Monday (8/3/2021).

Quoting yesterday’s Philippine press report, Anadolu reported that detention operations were carried out against suspected members of communist groups in the states of Rizal, Batangas and Cavite, Sunday (7/3/2021).

To the press, Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran announced that 9 people had died as a result of the clashes that erupted during the operation.

In detail, 6 people died in Rizal, 2 in Batangas and 1 in Cavite state.

A total of 6 other people were detained.

Lt. Col. Gaoiran also reported that explosives and weapons were confiscated at the houses where the raids were carried out.

In a telephone interview with Rappler.com, Calabarzon police chief Brigadier General Felipe Natividad said the operation was carried out under Executive Order No. 70, who ordered an end to the communist rebellion in the Philippines.

The executive order emphasizes the need for “basic service delivery and social development packages in conflict-affected and vulnerable areas”.
