The 18th edition of Rugby Night, organized by the National Rugby League (LNR) with the players’ union Provale, was held on Monday September 26 in the mythical Olympia hall in Paris.
It rewards each year the players, teams, staff and referees who marked the previous season of Top 14 and Pro D2.
And inevitably this year, the reigning French champion of Top 14, Montpellier Hérault Rugby (MHR), was greatly rewarded.
Thus, the Roman Philippe Saint-André, and the entire management of the Montpellier club, were elected by the players as the best staff of the Top 14 2021-2022.
It should also be remembered that another well-known character in Royans is part of the MHR staff and had a major role in the success of the Hérault club last year: Benjamin Del Moral, physical trainer.
In addition, the English third line of the MHR Zach Mercer was elected as the best player of the 2021-2022 season of Top 14, ahead of Antoine Dupont and Grégory Alldritt.
Philippe Saint-André’s team is having a very solid start to the season, with a Top 14 record of three wins (29-19 against Bordeaux-Bègles, 26-31 at Brive and 43-17 against Pau) for a single defeat (26-22 in La Rochelle), and occupy the place of co-leader with Toulouse.
