PGA Tour Returns to Trump Doral Miami
Iconic Venue Set to Host Event for First Time Since 2016
The PGA Tour is making a significant comeback to a familiar and historic venue. Trump Doral in Miami is slated to host a tour event next year, marking its return after an eight-year hiatus.
A Familiar Fairway Reopens
Sources indicate that the prestigious Trump Doral will welcome a PGA Tour competition from April 27 to May 3, potentially as a featured “signature event.” This change is expected to create a shuffle in the existing schedule, potentially pushing the CJ Cup Byron Nelson to a later date, following the PGA Championship.
The Charles Schwab Challenge, typically held after the PGA Championship, will now follow the adjusted Byron Nelson date.
A Storied Past at Doral
Trump Doral boasts a long history with professional golf, having hosted annual tournaments from 1962 until 2016. The WGC-Cadillac Championship was a prominent fixture at the resort from 2007 to 2016 before its relocation. In 2016, **Adam Scott** was the last PGA Tour champion crowned at Trump Doral.

The PGA of America previously voted to move the 2022 PGA Championship from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, to Southern Hills, a decision made shortly after the January 6th events. While this course has since hosted LIV Golf events and the 2017 U.S. Women’s Open, it has not yet seen a PGA Championship.
In recent years, Trump Doral has been a consistent venue for LIV Golf, hosting an event in each of its initial four seasons.
The resort, purchased by **Donald Trump** in 2012 for $150 million during bankruptcy proceedings, underwent a substantial $250 million renovation. According to Forbes, the value of the Trump Doral resort complex was estimated at $155 million in 2023.
