Regions of Ukraine receive the American vaccine produced by Pfizer with gross violations of storage conditions. It is reported by Country Wednesday, July 14th.
The publication claims that it received the corresponding video from the head of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine, Serhiy Kravchenko. And he was provided with a record of a colleague from the State Medicines Service.
“The footage shows a container with vaccines that arrived in Kharkiv. The footage shows that the Pfizer vaccine arrived without a special container, without cold elements. And the internal tracker registered a positive temperature for a long period of time. The manufacturer insists on a special temperature regime – from minus 60 to minus 80 degrees Celsius, “the message says.
Now officials from the Ministry of Health, the State Medicines Service and the Department of Pharmacovigilance of the State Expert Center will figure out who is to blame for violations of the conditions for transporting the vaccine. What to do with the spoiled batch, according to Kravchenko, has not yet been decided.
He noted that such a violation of the cold chain during the transportation of the Pfizer vaccine is not an isolated phenomenon in different regions of Ukraine.
“In the regions, they complain that about 38 thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine were distributed throughout Ukraine in such conditions, in violation of transportation rules. So far, only this video from Kharkov has been removed, but it confirms that the cold chain has been broken. No special container, cold elements , and the vaccine itself shows that it arrived unfrozen, “explained Sergey Kravchenko.
He stressed that the Pfizer drug should be delivered frozen at ultra-low temperatures, then the vaccine is thawed, diluted with a solvent, and only then is it used.
“The video shows that the tracker in the container recorded a temperature of 12.6 degrees, and at this temperature the vaccine was transported for a long time. This indicates that the cold chain is broken. The vaccine must be disposed of,” said the head of the National Medical Chamber of Ukraine.
Recall this week Pfizer vaccine is now available in Ukraine at mass vaccination centers. Anyone can get it, but the priority will be the elderly and people with concomitant diseases.
It was also reported that on July 2 in Ukraine was recorded first death after vaccination from coronavirus – four hours after vaccination with Pfizer / BioNTech, a 47-year-old man from Vinnitsa died.
Then Pfizer expressed condolences family of the deceased Ukrainian, but stressed that no connection between vaccination and the death of a man has been officially established.
