Petition Against Netflix Reality Show Around Colton Underwood | Entertainment

entertainment">A former football player, Underwood was one of The Bachelorette’s candidates in the past and went on to compete in Bachelor in Paradise. In 2019, he was the centerpiece of The Bachelor’s show. In that reality series about thirty women compete for the hand of a man, in that season Underwood.

entertainment">He chose Cassie Randolph in the final, and the two continued to date for another year after the show. They split up in May 2020, and a few months later Randolph asked a judge to ban Underwood, who would stalk her with messages and secretly put a GPS device in her car to track her. He would also regularly show up at her Los Angeles apartment and even at her parents’ house. The judge granted the restraining order, and two months later Randolph indicated that the arrangement was no longer necessary.

entertainment">Last week Underwood came out with a surprise coming out on talk show Good Morning America. Variety reported shortly afterwards that Netflix had plans for a reality series that follows the former athlete in his new life as an openly gay man. The anonymous initiator of the petition on Change.org says that the objections have nothing to do with the sexuality of the reality star: “Regardless of his sexuality, Colton should not be given a platform after his manipulative, dangerous behavior.”
