PES will not bark at sports. It will follow a different table

As part of the third stage of PES readiness, to which we could soon head, indoor sports grounds are also to be opened under certain conditions. One of the measures should be, for example, to limit the number of people in gyms or swimming pools to a maximum of ten people. However, such operations may be non-profit for some operators and will not address their situation in any way.

Therefore, the Chief Hygienist Jarmila Rážová, in cooperation with the National Sports Agency led by Milan Hnilička, is preparing a new table that would change the measures for sports listed in the PES system.

“We are working with the Ministry of Health on this. The only issues that are addressed are the levels of relaxation and the differences between professional, amateur organized and recreational sports. In addition, other areas of sports are also addressed there, such as fitness, wellness and sauna centers, “Hnilička told the iDnes.cz server, who informed about the new table.

Hnilička assumes that the government could deal with the new table at its Sunday meeting. If approved by the cabinet, it could possibly start to apply from Monday.

The Czech Chamber of Fitness, for example, also informed about the upcoming table on Facebook.

According to the information provided by them, the number of people in the interiors of gyms or swimming pools would not be limited to ten, but would depend on an area where there would be one person for every 15 square meters. The same is currently true, for example, in shops.

Spacing yes, exercise veils no

Group lessons could also be opened for a total of ten people. Participants would also have to keep a distance of two meters. During the exercise, for example, it is not expected that one would have to wear a veil.

It is not yet clear what the operation of other indoor sports grounds, such as squash and tennis courts or indoor volleyball courts, might look like. “We are preparing proposals to be able to run team sports, which means more than 10 people are allowed by PES,” Jakub Večerka, a spokesman for the sports agency, wrote to the News, adding that the proposals will have to be discussed by representatives of hygiene, health care and government.
