Three earthquakes in New Zealand have triggered a tsunami warning on the coast of Peru.
The Peruvian National Emergency Response Center said on the 4th (local time) that “a tsunami will come in the morning of the 5th on the Peruvian coast.”
Previously, the 8.1 earthquake occurred in the waters near New Zealand’s Kermadek Islands. This was followed by two earthquakes that exceeded the scale of 7.
New Zealand issued a tsunami warning and issued an evacuation order for residents living in the North Island coast, but the warning level has been lowered and the evacuation order has been lifted.
Tsunami warnings have also been issued in Hawaii and American Samoa, but have been lifted.
