Persib Bandung Defender Gets Blessings from Suspension of League 1 Competition 2020 Pages all

BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com – The suspension period of the Indonesian soccer competition which took place since mid-March 2020, was reluctant to be wasted by Persib Bandung player Nick Kuipers.

The Persib Bandung defender used his free time to develop his culinary business.

Before moving to Indonesia and playing for Persib, Kuipers already had a culinary business in the Netherlands.

He owns a shop that makes it wrap as the main menu.

The culinary business named Johnny Wrap has been running since 2017.

Kuipers runs the business with a friend.

Seeing a pretty good culinary business opportunity, Kuipers then expanded his business by opening a Johnny Wrap branch in Bandung.

For Kuipers, this is done to utilize their free time with more useful activities.

Because, during the suspension of the competition, Kuipers soccer activities only cover independent training activities to maintain physical fitness.

Kuipers started its business in Bandung in April by utilizing online sales.

Over time, wrap Kuipers merchandise began to be marketed in a manner offline in a restaurant in the city of Bandung.

“Everything can be ordered through gofood“Through Instagram, Johnny Wrap is also for delivery and take home,” Kuipers said, when contacted by reporters on Tuesday (6/30/2020).

“And last week, (Freddy’s Kitchen Restaurant) opened and you could enjoy Johnny Wrap dishes there,” he added.

For two months, Kuipers’ business continued to grow and he received a positive response from the community.

Even so, Kuipers initially felt worried that his business would not run smoothly.

Because, in Bandung, not many culinary businesses have made it wrap as the main dish.

He also worried that the tongue of Indonesian people did not match wrap which is a typical European cuisine.

However, the response given by the community was positive.

The former ADO Den Haag player hopes there will be more people enjoying wrap homemade.

“Johnny Wrap continues to grow, I think this is a new concept in Indonesia and people like this,” Kuipers said.

“The response of people was also positive, so it was extraordinary. I hope many people will try and let me know how they respond,” he said.

Can’t wait to get the grass back

Although his business developed quite well, Kuipers did not necessarily forget his obligations as a footballer.

Kuipers said he was enthusiastic to hear that the competition would continue in October.

The 28-year-old player also claimed to have been impatient to return to undergo soccer activities with the Persib team.

He hoped that the 2020 League 1 competition took place safely and smoothly.

“I think it’s good to start the competition again in October. Everything was probably under control at that time and we can start to focus on football again,” Kuipers said.

Kuipers continued, his physical condition was very ready to return to normal training on the field.

Because, he never missed the training program provided by the coaching team. In fact, Kuipers also always practice with the ball to keep his touch.

“I did a lot of training using the ball. But, to touch the ball will return to the best shape when we start (training) again),” said the Persib Bandung foreign player added.
