Perpetrator bomb letters signs threats with dashes | NOW

The person behind the bomb letters that have been sent to different companies in recent weeks signs the threats with a combination of horizontal and slashed lines. Investigation Wanted reported.

The bomb letters that were sent contained “specifically a 9 volt Duracell battery; a Professional Alkaline Battery”, the police can also report.

These are sold separately or in sets of ten. “The batteries were put in the envelope without a cover. Someone may have noticed that someone had such dismantled batteries in their possession.”

The perpetrator wants an amount in bitcoins from the companies. Earlier it was shared that the person behind the bomb letters always sent a paper bag with a cityscape of Delft. These are bags that, for example, are sold in souvenir shops.

Three bomb letters ignited

The police have a large team on the case, which among other things looks at the language used in the letters. The stamps and envelopes used, the font and the origin of the paper are also examined.

Three of the bomb letters delivered to companies were actually ignited: two in Amsterdam and one in Kerkrade. Employees of the companies described this as a bang that you hear when a fire goes off.

Among the letters that appeared in January, a collection agency in Rotterdam was listed as a fake sender. The bomb letters of February are non-existent companies. The police therefore advises companies to call the sender if they do not trust a letter with a thickening. If this does not work, they can call the police.
