Périgord Geek Celebrates 80s Nostalgia in Latest Edition
get ready to travel back in time! The Périgord Geek convention is set to celebrate its sixth edition with a vibrant tribute to the 1980s, promising a weekend filled with retro fun and geeky delights.
A Trip Down Memory Lane
since its inception in 2017, Périgord Geek has become a popular event. According to Misu Ni,“We started in 2017,it was a little challenge.”
The event quickly outgrew its initial venue. Jessica Verin, vice-president of Périgord Geek, noted that by the third edition, “we went to the Marsac exhibition center, ther were between 3,000 and 4,000 people.”
What’s on the Program?
This year’s program includes retro video games and arcades, offering a nostalgic experience for attendees. Manga culture enthusiasts can participate in drawing workshops led by designers. Other activities planned for the weekend include K-pop performances,cosplay events,archery,and ball pistol games.
Special Guests and Iconic Vehicles
Adding to the excitement, several special guests will be present, including Enrique, the singer of the “Goldorak” theme song, Jacky from Club Dorothée, and Dominique Poulain, the voice behind the “Candy” theme song. Misu Ni smiled, “It recalls childhood.”
along with the guests, iconic vehicles such as a Delorean from “Back to the Future” and the mystery Machine van from “Scooby-doo” will be on display.

Hopes for Another Triumphant Edition
Organizers are optimistic about the upcoming event. The president of Périgord Geek stated, “People have a smile every time. Casually, Périgueux is a city of geeks.”
They hope to replicate the success of previous years,bringing joy and entertainment to all attendees.
