Percy Jackson: The start date of the filming of the Disney + series revealed?

Good news at last ! Since the announcement in January 2020 of the arrival on Disney + of a series dedicated to the universe of Percy Jackson, the project had no longer given any sign of life. So much so, that we ended up seriously wondering if the adaptation of the mythical saga was still relevant. Fortunately, we finally have the answer! Indeed, it would seem that this is still the case. And for good reason, even if the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down considerably the entry into production of the future show, it is well and truly under development. Which explains why the author of the literary series Rick Riordan had tried to reassure fans last July, ensuring that the writers were still working on writing the script.

Today is the turn from the blog That Hashtag Show to come to consolidate the hope of the fans of Percy Jackson ! And for good reason, the latter recently shared exciting updates about the future show.

First, it would appear that the start of filming of the series planned on Disney + will begin in June 2022. Second, the name of the director of the first episode has also reportedly been released. It would be James Bobin (to whom we owe the film in live-action on Dora the Explorer notably). Third, the casting call found by That Hashtag Show also shows that the recruitment of future Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s best friends, is reportedly currently underway. Information to be taken with enormous tweezers, however, the latter having not been officially confirmed by Disney +. In the meantime, find out why the author of the novels on Percy Jackson never wanted to see the movies.
