People’s Artist of the USSR Nikolai Slichenko dies


The artistic director of the Romen Theater was hospitalized in a serious condition back in May. Now it became known about his death.

Last January Nikolai Slichenko appeared in Andrey Malakhov’s program “Hello, Andrey!” Then the People’s Artist of the USSR met with friends and told how he celebrated the anniversary. In the studio, the guests remembered how the film “Wedding in Malinovka” was shot. And this May the man went to the hospital. Then the suspicions of coronavirus were not confirmed, but his lung disease worsened. And on July 2, it became known that the actor had passed away.

The sad news appeared on theater website “Romain”, in which he was artistic director.

“In the creative biography of Nikolai Alekseevich, there are many bright acting works, played on the stage of his native theater and in the cinema. Outstanding directorial work, which raised the “Gypsy Theater” Romen “to a new level. The talent has an amazing feature – versatility.

This is exactly what Nikolai Alekseevich Slichenko was – an outstanding actor, singer, director, teacher, artistic director of the Romen theater, and a public figure. The star of Nikolai Slichenko will always shine in the sky in the constellation Taurus, and we will forever keep the memory of him in our hearts, ”the message says.

Recall that after the film “Wedding in Malinovka” the actor gained fame. There he sang and danced. Then not everyone knew that Nikolai Alekseevich was of gypsy blood. The actresses from the film admitted that they were in love with him, but the man did not pay attention to them. He has a son from his first marriage, Alexey, and also daughter Tamilla Slichenko, an actress of the “Romen” theater and sons Peter and Alexei. The artist’s grandson, Nikolai, once participated in the “Star Factory”.
