People with a lot of antibodies – neither for a vaccine, nor have the right to a certificate

They got sick more than 6 months ago in Pat

390,000 affected, for 81,000 the document expires soon

Vaccine queues are drawn at 1000 certificates per minute

Without passport up to 18 years

The EU did not allow us to extend the document of the sick for 1 year

All people who have suffered from COVID-19 find themselves in a stalemate with the introduction of the green certificate as an entrance for all indoor activities. Especially those with many antibodies, which, however, expire 6 months of the certificate. The reason – the validity of the document can not be extended, and at the same time immunologists do not recommend these people to rush with a vaccine.

Thus, the only thing left for them is the opportunity to take tests continuously. At the moment the main

they will be affected

a little over

390,000 people

This is the number of those cured in our country as of June 20, according to the data from the Unified Information Portal. For most of the 6-month period, it is long overdue.

The most critical situation is for about 81,000 who fell ill between April 20 and June 20 and for whom the expiry of the certificate is approaching. The exact number is difficult to determine because there are some who have subsequently been vaccinated. According to the world and some of our experts, illness plus vaccine give the most reliable immunity.

That is why the recommendation of the health authorities in Bulgaria is that those who have COVID should also be immunized, as there is no data on how long the “natural immunity” is.

However, according to some immunologists, the immunity of patients, especially more severely, is much more lasting, including t-cell (memory cells). And at very high levels of antibodies – around and above the upper limit according to the type of test, vaccination is not recommended because it would further burden the immune system. This can trigger other problems.

A possible solution in such cases is the administration of a single-dose vaccine, which according to immunologists causes a shorter and less effective immune response, ie. it will not burden the immune system so much.

The topic has been provoking debates for weeks – since the talk about the green certificate in our country. So far, it has been introduced by 20 EU countries.

“It simply came to our notice then

there is no single

opinion for

minimal

protective titer

of antibodies after illness. Not all antibodies identified with commercially available kits have neutralizing activity. To date, there is no requirement for a minimum antibody titer to administer a vaccine. According to the current recommendation of the National Vaccination Headquarters, the first dose can be administered 3 months after suffering from COVID-19, “they said in response to a question from” 24 Chasa “by the Ministry of Health.

That the certificate for the vaccinated will become indefinite, and for those who have spent COVID-19 – one year, virologist Prof. Radka Argirova told BNR on Wednesday. According to her, such an order is to be issued. Later, however, Minister Stoycho Katsarov denied this, recalling that the term of the certificates was set by the European Commission and we could not make another decision alone.

The question of

the extension

on the term of

document for

getting sick

at least up to 1 year

– The number of vaccinated people is being discussed at European level, but there is no solution yet.

According to lawyer Maria Sharkova, however, for all those who cannot be immunized for medical reasons, the state should offer a mechanism, such as tests being completely free. “We cannot automatically cross out all those who are chronically ill or suffer from any autoimmune diseases,” she told Nova TV. This group can also include people with very high antibody titers.

The only change that the Ministry of Health decided to make is to recognize the antigen tests as relevant for obtaining a document for illness. Something that was not accepted until now, and since they were equated to PCR in December 2020, many people are tested this way. They will now be able to get a certificate retroactively, but it will be accepted only in Bulgaria, not in other countries.

The other announced correction is that passports will not be required for children under 18, and not as originally planned – up to 12 years.

Hours after the new measures were announced, the National Health Information System collapsed after 1,000 certificates were withdrawn per minute. Hospitals, for which, for the first time since the spring, there were queues of people wishing to be vaccinated, also had difficulty entering the system.

The greatest interest this time was in the Jansen vaccine, which is a single dose and a certificate is taken after 14 days.

Additional offices were opened in the large hospitals in Sofia, and Alexandrovska announced that they would work over the weekend as well. Yesterday 170 people were immunized there, and in UMABL “St. Anna” – 188. The record holder is “Pirogov” with 434, half of which with “Jansen”.

Over 40 people lined up in the morning in front of RHI – Plovdiv. However, they were dissatisfied with the lack of organization and the long wait. Now the infection is much bigger, 52-year-old Georgi Nikolov explained why he did not get the vaccine in the summer. “This does not mean that we will not get sick, but at least make it easier,” the man summed up.

Stoycho Katsarov: Either green passports or complete closure

The president has nothing to do, I make the decisions, assured the Minister of Health

“The epidemic situation in the country is extremely serious. My appeal to all citizens is to take matters into our own hands, to comply with all measures that are an alternative to complete closure. ” This was announced yesterday by the Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov, while a protest was going on in front of the building of the Council of Ministers against the order issued by him.

“The measures are anti – epidemic, they are

do not forbid people

to work, do not oblige

people to be vaccinated

The green certificate is issued to people who have fallen ill, who have been vaccinated and who have taken a test. The aim is to limit the activities that are entertaining, which are not in our usual daily life, “said the Minister. The new measures actually ease some sectors, such as outdoor sports and nightclubs, Katsarov stressed.

“The alternative possibility of using the certificates is to close almost everything,” the caretaker Minister of Health was categorical.

The attacks on the order are mainly political and not accidental

political parties are attacking it,

because they are in an election campaign, Katsarov explained.

“The president has nothing to do with it. I make this decision with all the responsibility of the position I hold “, he answered a question whether he had previously consulted the measures of the new order with the head of state Rumen Radev.

The government was forced to take measures because otherwise the pressure on hospitals would have become too great, Katsarov stressed. Every 7th hospitalized dies, he cites statistics from this wave.

There will be a lifting of bans and requirements for vaccine, disease or negative test certificates when the number of those infected drops to such an extent that the country enters the green zone. Or if the number of vaccinated increases dramatically, Katsarov explained.

The government yesterday approved a decision to purchase 3,000 doses of monoclonal antibodies, a coronavirus therapy that is an alternative to remdesivirate, the health minister said.
