The most critical situation is for about 81,000 who fell ill between April 20 and June 20 and for whom the expiry of the certificate is approaching. The exact number is difficult to determine because there are some who have subsequently been vaccinated. According to the world and some of our experts, illness plus vaccine give the most reliable immunity.
That is why the recommendation of the health authorities in Bulgaria is that those who have COVID should also be immunized, as there is no data on how long the “natural immunity” is.
However, according to some immunologists, the immunity of patients, especially more severely, is much more lasting, including t-cell (memory cells). And at very high levels of antibodies – around and above the upper limit according to the type of test, vaccination is not recommended because it would further burden the immune system. This can trigger other problems.
A possible solution in such cases is the administration of a single-dose vaccine, which according to immunologists causes a shorter and less effective immune response, ie. it will not burden the immune system so much.
The topic has been provoking debates for weeks – since the talk about the green certificate in our country. So far, it has been introduced by 20 EU countries.

They will now be able to get a certificate retroactively, but it will be accepted only in Bulgaria, not in other countries.
The other announced correction is that passports will not be required for children under 18, and not as originally planned – up to 12 years.
Hours after the new measures were announced, the National Health Information System collapsed after 1,000 certificates were withdrawn per minute. Hospitals, for which, for the first time since the spring, there were queues of people wishing to be vaccinated, also had difficulty entering the system.
The greatest interest this time was in the Jansen vaccine, which is a single dose and a certificate is taken after 14 days.
Additional offices were opened in the large hospitals in Sofia, and Alexandrovska announced that they would work over the weekend as well. Yesterday 170 people were immunized there, and in UMABL “St. Anna” – 188. The record holder is “Pirogov” with 434, half of which with “Jansen”.
