Minor Injuries, Major Jam: Four-Vehicle Crash Clogs Penang Traffic near Batu Uban
GEORGE TOWN – A collision involving a lorry and three cars caused critically important traffic congestion on the Tun dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway near Kampung Batu Uban in penang today, bringing traffic to a standstill for approximately one hour.
The incident, which occurred in the Bayan Lepas industrial area, resulted in minor leg injuries to the 40-year-old driver of an isuzu lorry.according to reports from Sinar Harian Online, the drivers of the other vehicles involved escaped without injury.
John Sagun Francis,Assistant Director of Operations at the Penang Fire and Rescue Department stated,”The three other drivers – a 24-year-old in a Nissan Serena,a 56-year-old in a Perodua Alza,and a 65-year-old in a Proton Persona – were uninjured.”
Eyewitnesses and members of the public assisted the drivers in exiting their vehicles prior to the arrival of emergency services.Firefighters from the Jalan Perak station arrived on the scene at 1:40 PM and provided initial treatment to the lorry driver, who had already received attention from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services unit.
The fire department focused on clearing debris from the expressway, concluding their operations at 2:24 PM. The case has been handed over to the police for further inquiry.
