Brazilian legend Edson Arans de Nascimento expressed «Pele», Friday evening, regretted the death of Amadeo Carreto, considering that he was “one of the best guards in the history of Argentina.”
Pele said in his various accounts on social media: “Carreto has been a role model in years in which football was not a sport of its magnificence, as is currently the case.”

Carreto, considered one of the legends of Argentine football, died today at the age of 93 in Rovino, his hometown.
Carreto has guarded River Plate for two decades and won 12 titles with him and was president of the club until the end of 2013. The legendary goalkeeper crowned the Nations Cup with Argentina in Brazil in 1964.
