Peggy Carter could be Tony Stark’s mother

Tony Stark’s biological mother, aka Iron Man, could actually be Peggy Carter. A new fan theory is once again trying to link clues scattered throughout the MCU.

The idea that Peggy is Tony’s mother may seem a bit far-fetched. However, there is some evidence to suggest that this is not entirely impossible. Like Tony, the latter’s father was a bit of a playboy before meeting Maria. In the series Agent Carter, we have also seen Howard Stark flirt with Peggy several times.

In the show, we can see that Peggy and Howard respect and care about each other’s well-being. This could therefore have led to a relationship of another level. It must be recognized, however, that none of their appearances in the films and the series provide concrete evidence that they did have a romantic relationship.

Another problem that is also important to highlight is related to age. Suppose Peggy was 19 years old in Captain America : First Avenger and 20 in the series (whose intrigue takes place about a year after Steve’s loss in the Arctic). It would mean that Peggy would have given birth to Tony in the late thirties, so very late, assuming Tony was in his forties in the first movie Iron Man.

Can Tony Stark Really Be Peggy Carter’s Hidden Child?

Peggy was a career-oriented woman. If Howard and she had a moment of weakness and conceived Tony on this occasion, it is not crazy to think that she was able to give birth and then continued to exercise her functions, while the child was looked after by his biological father and stepmother.

If we can admit that this situation is credible, it is nevertheless very surprising that a man as influential as Howard took such a risk. A scandal of this magnitude could have indeed tarnish his reputation already doubtful. It is also obvious that it would have been difficult to accept for Maria.

Avengers Endgame, Steve and Peggy: Daniel Sousa had no chance against Captain America

Admittedly, it has been established that Tony’s mother was Maria and that Peggy had his own family with agent Daniel Sousa. But that was only valid until Steve moved back to the past to find Peggy in Avengers : Endgame. The Russo brothers, however, said that Steve actually went to an alternative universe where Peggy was still single. With all these complications, it is nevertheless unlikely that Peggy is Tony’s biological mother. It is after all a simple fan theory, which unless it is revealed in a next MCU film or series, will certainly never be confirmed.
