The head of state gave this news during his first message to the Nation, more than a month after he assumed the Presidency.
“Announcement that as a result of negotiations between the Peruvian government and the Russian government, the installation of a vaccine production plant has been coordinated Sputnik in the country, “he said before saying that the Minister of Health, Hernando Cevallos,” will give more details about these works “later.
The president also reported that, for the implementation of the plan in the face of a possible third wave of the COVID-19, has arranged to allocate S / 2,890 million “for the period from September to December for transversal and specific interventions.”
Likewise, he indicated that 23 additional oxygen plants have been implemented in health establishments, thus reaching a total of 336 medicinal oxygen plants.
Vaccination against COVID-19
On the other hand, the president Pedro Castillo announced that the arrival of new batches of vaccines against the COVID-19, as well as the number of doses purchased from two laboratories. With this they hope to accelerate the vaccination of the population.
“The government is aware that without vaccination there will not be full economic reactivation, for this reason we are anticipating the arrival of vaccines and we are achieving an increase in the doses of the laboratories Pzifer and Sinopharm“, he pointed.
As reported, more than 5 million doses have been applied in August alone. Thus, a total of 11 million first doses applied and more than 8 million second doses have been reached.
“For September we have scheduled the arrival of more than 12 million doses, with this we hope to meet the goal of vaccinating approximately 50% of the target population with two doses,” he added.
