PDIP elder talks about possibility of NasDem becoming opposition Gegara abstains from IKN law review

Jakarta

Hamlet NasDem party The Presidential Decree has chosen to abstain on the revision of Law no. 3 of 2022 on the matter State Capital (IKN) proposed to join the Prolegnas Prioritarie 2023. High level politician PDIP extension Hendrawan Supratikno assessed that NasDem’s position cannot be concluded as a final position.

“Don’t conclude the contents of a book just by looking at the color of the cover. Don’t see a decision as a permanent establishment,” Hendrawan told reporters on Friday (11/25/2022).

On the other hand, Commissioner X DPR RI from the PDIP faction thinks that the dynamics of national politics will become clearer regarding NasDem. Hendrawan mentioned the direction and aspirations for the future.

“In the future we will see clearer and more open dynamics. The orientation and aspirations of political parties will be narrower,” he said.

Does this mean that there will be parties from Jokowi’s coalition jumping into the opposition camp? Hendrawan said anything can happen.

“Don’t extinguish the possibility. Everything is still possible. One of the arts of politics is the management of hopes and signals,” he added.

The NasDem DPR Party faction had previously chosen to abstain when the revision of the 2022 Law Number 3 related to the IKN was proposed to be included in the Priority National Legislative Program 2023. NasDem DPR RI Chairman Roberth Rouw explained the reasons for the abstention of the NasDem.

“Oh right, it hasn’t been the plenary yet, we deliberately abstained earlier. Why? We just passed the IKN law recently, count how many months is the IKN. So we want to study it better so that we can express our views to the plenary session later,” Roberth said when contacted on Thursday (24/11).

He said NasDem abstained so that the IKN bill would become a lesson for cadres. Aside from that, Roberth said the NasDem DPR faction does not want to be arbitrary in making decisions.

“Abstain first, see first, denounce first because we’re an extension of the party, we don’t go easy on our faction, right? We also have to report to the DPP to jointly ask for guidance from there, like this,” Roberth explained.
