“At least the agreement in the Marche can be done. Retiring is not only a damage for the Marches, but it is also an unfavorable sign for the holding of the majority that currently governs Italy ”. So Goffredo Bettini warned the government chaired by Giuseppe Conte: without alliances the regional elections will be a debacle for the left and for the grillini. Despite the alarm from Nicola Zingaretti’s adviser and the premier’s repeated appeals, there will be no agreement between Pd and M5s.
It is precisely the 5 Stars who risk bringing down Conte, after having done so much to sponsor him and place him at Palazzo Chigi. If Liguria is excluded, where however the Pd-M5s candidate has no hope of victory against the outgoing center-right governor, in all other regions an agreement has not been reached by the will of the Movement, according to which alliances must be made only where there are conditions. And evidently in Puglia and in Market they are not there, since the 5 Stars are willing to run alone: if this were to be confirmed, the left would already be defeated in the regional teams. Not even the obvious repercussions on the government’s stability seem to scare the grillini, while Conte trembles at the thought of what could happen after the September regional elections: in the event that the center-right wins in four or more regions, the government will at least come out bruised.
