Pay the installments, BUMI has paid off the debt of Rp. 4.81 T

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– The largest coal producer in Indonesia, PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI) returned to pay off debts of Rp. 3.8 million or around Rp. 55.1 billion (exchange rate of Rp. 14,500 / US $). This is the 11th debt repayment installment for Tranche A.

Dileep Srivastava, Director & Corporate Secretary of BUMI, explained that the payment was made today, Friday (16/10/2020). This payment is intended for loan interest for Tranche A.

“By making the eleventh quarterly payment today, the Company has currently paid a total of US $ 331.6 million in cash consisting of Tranche A principal amounting to US $ 195.8 million and interest of US $ 135.8 million, including accrued interest and interest. that has not been paid, “said Dileep in a statement today. If converted into rupiah, BUMI has already paid off its debt of Rp. 4.81 trillion.

Dileep again emphasized that BUMI has a high commitment to pay off all obligations. This is reflected in that the company has begun to capitalize on coupon payments for trance B and C. The next payment for tranche A will mature in January 2021.

In August 2020, BUMI recorded coal production reaching 6.9 million tons, an increase compared to July’s production of 5.9 million tons. That way in the January-August 2020 period, the company’s total coal production reached 53.8 million tons.

Dileep Srivastava said that even though production had increased, sales actually decreased to 6.2 million tons, compared to 6.4 million tons in the previous month due to delivery schedule constraints.

The company noted that the coal mined by its subsidiary PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) increased to 5.3 million tons in August compared to July’s 4.9 million tons. PT Arutmin’s coal mine also increased to 1.6 million tonnes in August compared to 1 million tonnes in July.

“This was mainly due to less rainfall at both locations compared to July. However, sales were lower than July with KPC selling 5 million tonnes compared to July’s 5.2 million tonnes, and PT Arutmin’s sales equal to July’s 1.2 million tonnes. tons, “said Dileep recently.

Dileep said that coal prices continued to decline throughout August and September. Until mid-September, the Newcastle coal price index was below US $ 50 per ton, only in mid-September it rose to nearly US $ 60 per ton.

“The high internal Chinese RMB price (above 600 RMB) is encouraging traders to start buying cargoes from Australia and Indonesia, although there is a risk they may not be able to import until January 2021,” said Dileep.
