Paul Scholes’ Sky High Praise for Anthony Martial

This season Martial has taken on new responsibilities at MU. He was returned to center-forward by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Manchester United left Romelu Lukaku last year.

Martial has managed to show impressive form this season. He has recorded 23 goals for the Red Devils in various events this season.

Scholes considers Solskjaer’s decision to shift Martial’s position more to the middle of a sweet fruit.

He assessed the striker now really showed a real threat every time he faced the opponent’s defensive line.

“I used to wonder if he was the number nine player or was he a wide player? But it turns out that he is becoming the number nine player from match to match.”

Scholes is also pleased to see Martial’s evolution in the MU squad. He believes that the defender will now find it increasingly difficult to stop the 24-year-old striker.

“I think when he goes head-to-head with opposing players, he can’t be stopped. I don’t see a way to stop him, and he’s only shown that recently.”

“Now the game is more complete, where he can pass opponents, he can score goals, and he has all the attributes you want in a striker.” he said.

Martial’s 23 goals record made him Manchester United’s temporary top scorer this season.

This is the first time Martial has scored more than 20 goals in five years with the Red Devils.
