Patients with COVID hang in corridors until they find beds in Pazardzhik

Dr. Krassimir Temnilov, Staff: BNT

The hospital in Pazardzhik is already overloaded with patients with COVID, BNR reported.

For the first time since the end of May, the number of people hospitalized for coronavirus infection has exceeded 4,000, after another 85 people were admitted in the last 24 hours. There is almost no change in the number of people accommodated in intensive care units – they are 334 people.

The multi-profile hospital in Pazardzhik, where the only Emergency Department in the district operates, is overcrowded. Patients have to stay in the corridors until free Covid beds are found, said the hospital’s director, Dr. Krassimir Temnilov.

“We also have sick nurses. The emergency department is too busy – ambulance after ambulance brings in patients and at one point, it is” blocked “by patients. These patients must be treated, examined, examined, consulted by an internist. All of this takes time, and when we don’t have a place, we start calling other hospitals and asking if anyone will be able to see the patient. “The health care system is already overloaded enough,” the director explained.
