NEW JERSEY – Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Paterson, New Jersey, the mayor of this city, André Sayegh, signed an executive order to implement from October 29, until further notice, stricter measures to control an increase in contagions.

  • Residents are asked, if possible, not to leave after 9:00 pm and to continue with biosecurity recommendations such as physical distancing and the use of masks.

During a press conference it was said that the new restrictions are also due to the recent number of complaints about crowds inside and outside establishments. The mayor said that during the weekend there were social encounters that violated biosecurity regulations.

“In three days we have seen the cases rise more than a hundred the three days together, and this is a preventive action to save lives,” said Councilor Luis Vélez.
