Security Officer (Aviation Security) Kualanamu International Airport Deli Serdang secured an HS passenger (29) who was suspected of opening the emergency window of the Wings Air IW-1248 aircraft at Kulanamu Airport, Sunday, at 08.45 WIB.
Acting Manager Of Branch Communication & Legal PT Angkasa Pura II Kualanamu Paulina Simbolon, when confirmed, said that the Wings Air airline had handed over the passenger to related parties for further legal proceedings.
Previously, flight IW-1248 had been well prepared, having a scheduled departure at 08.45 WIB to Binaka Airport in Gunung Sitoli.
Wings Air operates an ATR 72-500 aircraft registered PK-WF0 which will fly four crew members and 44 adult passengers and one child.
When the preparatory process for departure was complete and all the passengers were already in the aircraft cabin, one of the HS male passengers suddenly opened an emergency exit window.
Due to this incident, all passengers were dropped off and directed back to the departure waiting room of Kualanamu Airport.
This incident resulted in a 55 minute delay in the departure of Wings Air for flight IW-1248.
