Party ratings: Every third voter – in Riga – would vote for “Saskaņa” in Riga City Council elections

According to the survey conducted by SKDS on behalf of the Latvian television and public media portal lsm.lv, 33.2% of the elected respondents would be ready to cast their vote for the political party “Sadarba” in the upcoming extraordinary elections of the Riga City Council at the end of August.

In second place with 23.3% support is the party association “For Development / Par!” and the party “Progressive”, which will run together in the elections. In third place with 8.6% support is the joint list of the national association “All for Latvia!” – “For Fatherland and Freedom” / LNNK and the Association of Latvian Regions.

In the fourth place with 8.4% support – the party “New Unity”, in the fifth place with 6.1% support – the Union of Greens and Farmers, but in the sixth place with 5.9% support – the party “Honor to serve Riga”. The New Conservative Party (JKP) is in seventh place with 5.7% of respondents, but the Latvian Russian Union is in seventh place with 5% support.

As a result, eight lists of political parties could get at least five percent of the vote.

1.9% of respondents have expressed readiness to vote for the party “KPV LV” represented in the government, but 1.5% of respondents would be ready to vote for the party “Alternative”.

Compared to the previous poll conducted in May, the largest increase was observed by the party association “For Development / For!” and the Progressive party, whose support has risen by 6.7 percentage points, but the biggest drop has been in the JKP, which has lost four percentage points. In turn, the support of “Harmony” has decreased by 2.8 percentage points.

The survey was conducted in early July. Of the respondents, 55.3% were convinced that they would definitely participate in the elections, while 27.2% indicated that they would “rather participate”.
