General Secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (REIT), Munarman said that the parties are still looking for the FPI High Priest legal case, Rizieq Shihab ahead of his return to Indonesia as a criminal.
“That (who is looking for Rizieq’s legal case) is a criminal means that person. That’s a criminal,” said Munarman at the FPI DPP Office, Petamburan, Thursday (5/11).
Munarman also criticized the police for issuing a statement that they would re-examine reports of legal cases that dragged Rizieq. According to him, the statement indicated the police’s intention to criminalize someone.
“Because this means, law enforcement officers deliberately build cases and find fault or in general terms it is usually called criminalization. Now this is not justified,” he said.
Munarman explained that up to now there have been eight legal cases that dragged Rizieq. Of these, two of them have had SP3 status or been terminated, namely allegations of defaming Pancasila and pornography.
According to Munarman, these legal cases were only a form of dislike for Rizieq. Therefore, he said, FPI will not remain silent and will continue to fight through legal channels.
“If asked, what FPI wants? Yes, of course we will prepare legal aid. But this means criminals. This is criminalization. We will fight, that way,” he said.
Previously, Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus, said that his party would examine a number of legal reports related to Rizieq. He said that his party had received many reports that dragged Rizieq’s name.
However, Yusri was reluctant to comment further regarding the legal case report. Including, is there a possibility to continue the legal process against the FPI leader.
“Indeed, there are many police reports regarding Pak Rizieq, I will check them later,” said Yusri at Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday (5/11).
