The famous partly shredded painting by the British artist Banksy has been auctioned in London for 18.6 million pounds (almost 22 million euros). Auction house Sotheby’s speaks of a record on Twitter. The expected yield was between 4 and 6 million pounds.

The work ‘Girl with Balloon’ went through a shredder hidden in the frame three years ago, shortly after it was sold at auction, and was subsequently retitled ‘Love is in the Bin’.
At the time, the work of art brought in about 1.4 million euros. The buyer’s name was not disclosed, even now.
