Parma-Inter 1-2: Gervinho, De Vrij e Bastoni

Seven days ago, after winning the recovery against Sampdoria, Antonio Conte charged the environment with big bucks. “We will break the boxes to the end.” The Inter coach had seen us right: when his team seemed ready to greet the remaining hopes of the championship, a quite sensational comeback arrived in Parma, with goals from De Vrij (84 ‘) and Bastoni (87’) to overturn the Gervinho’s initial advantage. A result that rewards the moral depth of the Nerazzurri and punishes Parma beyond its own demerits. D’Aversa’s team, however dropped in the final, had not granted practically anything. Then in the final, left in 10 for Kucka’s protests after the tie, she disappeared from the field.

Parma immediately started well: Gervinho is in his best day of 2020, Inter builds little and suffers on the wings. The Ivorian receives Kucka’s cross, sends Candreva to the bar and beats Handanovic, observed by a too contemplative D’Ambrosio. The unprecedented rear guard completed by Godin and De Vrij allows Parma a lot: Cornelius eats his doubling on a couple of occasions, Sepe observes the sterile attacks of Inter. Also because Eriksen is out of the game, Lautaro bangs but does not affect, Lukaku never sees her and between Candreva and Biraghi there is not something noteworthy.

THE CHANGES

After half the recovery in which not much happens, Conte plays Moses (for Candreva), Young (Biraghi) and Sanchez (Eriksen). The situation improves, even if the turning point comes on an inactive ball with Lautaro’s intelligent assist for De Vrji, who has never been so badly behind but decisive forward. Kucka sends the referee to that country: he wanted a push from Lautaro that isn’t there. And it is a new entrant, Moses, to brush for the head of Bastoni, completely forgotten by Parma, the ball of the turnaround. Inter wins and shows a big heart, although Conte will not be too happy after the worst post-covid performance.
