Alphonse Areola, 2018 world champion and current third goalkeeper in the France team, has signed a five-year contract, until the summer of 2027, with an optional additional year, said the English club, without revealing the amount of the transfer.
At 29, Areola left his training club, where he never managed to impose himself and which loaned him many times in recent years, in France (Lens, Bastia) and abroad (Villarreal, Real Madrid, Fulham).

Barred in Paris by competition from Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma, he played last season at West Ham.
