Jackson disclosed that she began using drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism for her depression, a period marked by intense self-hatred and low self-esteem.She described feeling “worthless” and experiencing life as unbearable. Following the attempt, she was hospitalized and entered a 90-day residential treatment program at the Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California.
