Brant County, ON – New stop signs have been installed at the intersection of Keg Lane and Brant-Oxford Road, a move that has prompted resident concerns regarding safety and traffic flow. Councillor Jennifer Kyle reported at a recent council meeting that constituents have voiced worries about vehicles failing to stop and near-miss incidents occurring at the junction.
Brant-Oxford Road serves as a boundary between Brant County and Oxford County, experiencing traffic from various municipalities including Blandford-Blenheim and North Dumfries. In response to the ongoing safety issues, the county is working to implement a temporary traffic light at the intersection. This signal is anticipated to be operational by the fall and will be configured to prioritize traffic on Brant-Oxford Road.
A council report indicates that the traffic control system will be continuously monitored and adjusted as necessary to optimize overall traffic flow and minimize delays. In the interim, Councillor Kyle urged drivers to exercise heightened vigilance and adapt to the new traffic controls promptly.
