“Prevent before the child gets sick. Parents are responsible for maintaining children’s health through nutrition, ”said Kanya in a virtual discussion, Tuesday (16/2).
He said that maintaining the best health of children is by providing nutrition in order to achieve a good nutritional status. So that the immune system can be optimally boosted. The COVID-19 pandemic has made people pay more attention to matters of mental and physical health for all family members, especially children who are capable his body is not as strong as adults.
“One more thing that is important is immunization. Do not let the child not get vaccinated, once the pandemic is over, another outbreak of infection will emerge that should have been prevented by immunization. Don’t forget to check the vaccination recommendations for children aged 0-18 years which have been updated in 2020 by IDAI, “explained Kanya.
According to him, in the early days of the pandemic, when people had a lot of activities at home, the number of patients and visits to the pediatric clinic was greatly reduced. On the other hand, the number of healthy patients who came to be immunized has significantly increased.
Kanya said that parents don’t have to worry about going to health facilities to immunize their children.
Because health facilities in general have differentiated the location and time for healthy patients and sick patients and implement strict health protocols.
