The directive, which was approved by MEPs, in fact only introduces the right of every parent to spend at least four months on parental leave, two months of which cannot be transferred between parents. However, fathers do not have to use it.
Nevertheless, the Czech legislators should negotiate the directive and ensure that the other parent can also take parental leave for at least two months.
