The third demonstration in Vienna’s favorites took place on Friday within three days. And there were riots again.
There has been a state of emergency in Vienna’s 10th district for three consecutive evenings. Kurds and left-wing activists also gathered in favorites on Friday. This time, the riots of the past few days were the reason for the rally. The topic was the “aggression and attacks by Turkish nationalist and Islamist groups”.
As on Wednesday and Thursday, everything started pretty quietly. The situation became increasingly tense towards evening. Time and again there were disruptions by people who stood apart from the demonstrators.
“Simply tragic”
In the middle of Reumannplatz there was a dangerous situation: While people were singing chants, firecrackers are suddenly thrown into the crowd. The police also had their hands full on Friday and showed presence. Dogs and helicopters were on site so that the situation did not get out of control.
