CDC Website Redirection Notices Now Active for Moved Content
Atlanta, GA – October 4, 2025 – Visitors to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website encountering “page not found” errors are now being automatically redirected or presented with options to locate moved content. The CDC has implemented a series of notices to guide users through recent website updates and ensure continued access to vital public health information. These changes impact anyone who has previously bookmarked CDC webpages.
The CDC is actively migrating content, resulting in URL changes. To mitigate disruption, the agency is employing three primary redirection messages. Users encountering a moved page will either be automatically forwarded to the new location within 10 seconds, or presented with a message offering a direct link. In cases where content has been archived, users are directed to archive.cdc.gov with similar automatic redirection and link options. The CDC urges all users to update any saved bookmarks to reflect the new website structure.
Specifically, the notices include: a general “page moved” message with redirection; a message for instances where multiple pages matched the original request; and a dedicated notice informing users that content has been moved to the CDC’s archive website. These measures are designed to maintain public access to critical health data during the ongoing website transition.
