Pack Christmas packages for children in need

This year, the love-in-box campaign has a collection point in the “Kaisaschnitt” hairdressing salon in Karlstadt. Everyone can pack Christmas packages again. For children who are not doing so well and their families. This year the campaign is taking place for the fifth time.

Wrzburger Tobias Winkler is the initiator of the campaign. Around 20 to 30 people are part of the core team and have been actively involved since 2015. In the meantime, Liebe-im-Karton has become a nationwide aid project with voluntary helpers in many cities and regions.

The Kaisaschnitt hairdressing salon will be one of the collection points this year. Owner Laura Pinna explains how it works: “We have 75 empty boxes here that you can pick up.” The gifts can then be wrapped in this and not in any box.

A fully packed carton can be returned in the cesarean section. From November 15th, the Wrzburg team will collect the filled boxes. This year the Christmas packages are going to Northern Iraq, Greece and Romania.

What belongs in the boxes

The organizers of the campaign provide information on their website (www.liebe-im-karton.de) about what goes in the boxes: something to play with, Ses without gelatine, a cuddly toy, painting and writing materials. The children are also happy to receive a personal greeting or a picture they have drawn.

A piece of clothing, a first aid kit or other useful items can also help the families in the target regions a lot. Used things are welcome in the boxes, but nothing dirty or defective.

Why does Kaisaschnitt take part in the campaign? Laura Pinna: “It’s a cool campaign that I want to support. You just have to do something for the children who are not doing so well.” So far, eleven boxes have been picked up in the Kaisaschnitt. It is also possible to bring the presents and pack them in a box on the terrace of the hairdressing salon.

You can find out about the current status on the Liebe-im-Karton Facebook page. Here it says: “While the world is busy arguing who is right and what should be done, we concentrate on active work, according to the motto: From all for all.”

The cardboard boxes should not be sealed, as they will then be checked by the team in Wrzburg. It is important that there are no objects in it that are dangerous to children. Anyone who would like to support the controls in compliance with the necessary corona rules can contact the team in Wrzburg at the email address [email protected].
