Ozzy Osbourne drummer Lee Kerslake (73) passed away | NOW

Lee Kerslake died on Saturday at the age of 73, reports TMZ. The drummer, known for Uriah Heep and his collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne, was suffering from cancer.

One of Kerslake’s band members from Uriah Heep made the news on Saturday. “It is with great sadness that I share that Lee Kerslake, my friend for 55 years and the best drummer I ever played with, lost his battle against cancer this morning.”

Kerslake had long been suffering from cancer. He quit Uriah Heep in 2018, four years after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His last performance was in London.

Kerslake was an English musician, best known as the drummer and backing vocalist for the rock band Uriah Heep and his collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne in the early 1980s.

Ozzy sent Osbourne early last year two platinum albums to the terminally ill drummer. Kerslake had asked if he could have the records.

The drummer once played on the successful albums Blizzard of Ozz in Diary of a Madmen. However, he never got the credits for it. It even went to court because Kerslake wanted royalties for his contribution. He lost that case.

Kerslake wrote a letter to Osbourne and said this wish was high on his bucket list. Osbourne then sent him the platinum albums.
