The use of the n-word in the season premiere of The Farm Celebrity made the comment fields catch fire, and has put the racism debate back on the agenda.
Both when the word was said inside the yard, and after the episode was shown last week, influencer and former Sommerhytta winner Øyunn Krogh (25) has raised her voice against racism in several forums.

It also bears the mark of her inboxes on social media. In the last week, she has received several messages with hateful content. These are either directed at her as a person, or her – and others’ – attempts to crack down on racism.

Posted hate on Instagram
It provoked the 25-year-old so much, that she chose to post a selection from her own inbox, as well as similar messages from public comment fields on Sunday night.
– The reason I posted it was not to encourage sympathy for me. It was to say, “Look at this! This is the reason why we must continue to raise our voices. It was an attempt to expose the problem we actually face in society, says Krogh to TV 2.
Krogh says that she is often told that she takes her anti-racist commitment too far, and that society has gone further than she insinuates.
– This is proof that it is not true. We still have a long way to go to get what should have been a matter of course: a society without racism, she continues.
The post was removed
On Monday, the post was removed by Instagram, probably because it was reported enough times.
– It is interesting that someone chooses to report this, but that the comment fields and the hateful content out there are allowed to stand. It is very ironic, says the 25-year-old and adds:

– Some may of course have reacted to the fact that I published my full name, but only two of these messages were instant messages, while the rest were taken from public comment fields. People may disagree with my decision, I respect that, but that is another discussion, says Krogh.
Appeared again
On Tuesday, the post suddenly reappeared, with this message from Instagram:

“We can allow hate speech to be shared when it’s done to challenge the content or raise awareness about it. In such cases, we ask you to clearly state the purpose of the content ».
– I asked for a manual review of the post when it was blocked, something they obviously have done. I had hoped that they would land on that decision, and I am very happy that they did, says Krogh.
She is happy that so many have shown their support and shared the post.
– I am glad that the post was perceived as I hoped it would be. Namely that we must continue to speak out, says the 25-year-old.
