Since the start of the school year, the queues have been stretching out in front of medical offices in the Caen agglomeration. “People turn to general practitioners when they are worried, when they see symptoms of Covid-19. We can see this phenomenon all over France, says Jacques Battistoni, president of the union MG France and practitioner in Ifs (Calvados).
But in Caen, general practitioners have a real difficulty in obtaining tests. We are unable to provide screening results promptly. (…) In this situation, it is difficult to assume our role.

“Unpreparedness” of the government
