J.T. Miller and Tyler Motte each scored a brace to allow the Vancouver Canucks to beat the Ottawa Senators 5-1 at Rogers Arena on Wednesday.

Thatcher Demko made 23 of 42 first-period saves to help Vancouver (4-5-0) win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Elias Pettersson scored a goal and an assist, while Quinn Hughes and Jay Beagle each had two assists for the Canucks, who will be able to sweep their three-game streak against Ottawa on Thursday.

Josh Norris scored a goal and Marcus hogberg made 30 saves in his second start of the season for the Senators (1-5-1). Ottawa suffered a sixth straight loss (0-5-1).

Motte was credited with his fifth goal of the season following a chance rebound at 11:46 of the third period to complete the scoring.

The Senators defenseman Christian Wolanin left the game at 8:30 of the second period with a lower body injury.

Blackhawks 1, Predators 2 (TB)

Hair Saros made 29 saves for the Nashville Predators in a 2-1 shootout win over the Chicago Blackhawks at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday.

Saros frustrated Dominic Cuban, Patrick Kane and Mattias Janmark in shootout, while Matt Duchene scored the only goal for the Predators (4-3-0). Nashville posted a second victory in two nights over Chicago, winning 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday.

Kevin Lankinen turned away 41 shots in net for the Blackhawks (2-3-3), who nevertheless had at least one point in a fifth straight game.
