[ゴリス(アルメニア) 25日 ロイター] – According to the Armenian government, more than 2,900 refugees have arrived in Armenia after escaping from Nagorno-Karabakh, a disputed area with Azerbaijan, as of 5 a.m. on the 25th (10 a.m. Japan time).

Last week, Azerbaijan launched a military operation against the ethnically-controlled areas of Nagorno-Karabakh, effectively winning the war, leading many ethnic Armenians to flee the region, fearing persecution and ethnic cleansing.

According to the Turkish presidential palace, President Erdoğan will visit the Azerbaijani territory of Nakhchivan on the 25th and will discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh with Turkish President Aliyev.

An ethnic Armenian leader in Nagorno-Karabakh told Reuters on Wednesday that the 120,000 ethnic Armenians do not want to continue living in the region.See more
