Ousmane Dembele is currently curing a hamstring injury sustained on his comeback for Barcelona in the Champions League against Dynamo Kiev. Ivan Rakitic hopes the winger can overcome his injury vulnerability. “I pray to God that he will not be hurt anymore, that he will find his rhythm,” said the Croatian international in an interview with the TV channel Bein Sports.
Rakitic, who played with Dembele for the Catalans from 2017 to 2020, rates the qualities of his ex-team-mate highly. “We saw it last season when he played at the top. He was very strong then,” said Rakitic, looking back on the past season.

Rakitic compares the French to another former teammate. “He is of the caliber of Neymar or other players with this style,” said the ex-Schalke: “Ousmane has qualities that very few players have.” He could make the difference, among other things with his strength in dribbling.
