Our choices for East and West

Even though there won’t be a classic All-Star Game this season, it is possible as of this week to vote to designate the All-Stars for this NBA 2021 season. We decided to choose ours, on the basis of 5 guards and 7 forwards per Conference. This may not be the format chosen, but this is how the two selections seem to us to be the most balanced.

The 12 Eastern players

GUARDS

James Harden and Kyrie Irving (Brooklyn Nets)

Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics)

Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards)

Malcolm Brogdon (Indiana Pacers)

Three new All-Stars at the backs in the East for us this year, just that!

  • It would be quite dishonest not to hold back Jaylen Brown in this selection. With or without Jayson Tatum at his side, the Celtics’ back was simply excellent, with a terrible mix of efficiency and productivity (27.1 points, 5.6 rebounds on average at 52.2% and 44.1% at 3 pts!), to allow Boston to point to two wins from first place in the East despite injuries and glitches from each other.
  • Malcolm Brogdon is once again the Pacers’ metronome and a very, very high quality two-way player despite a lack of media hype. Indiana has successfully started the season and both in numbers (22.8 pts, 7.1%, 41% at 3 pts) and in impact, Brogdon deserves his place.
  • Bradley Beal are going to bitch again and mandate his agent and his wife to complain if he is not selected, so we want to spare ourselves that by keeping him … More seriously, the team’s record is not everything and Beal can not be constantly penalized by the nullity and bad luck of the Wizards while it runs at 35.4 points on average at 48%! He does everything he can to raise the overall level in Washington and still pulls out some pretty crazy matches despite the context.

For the two former, we know that Kyrie Irving will not be unanimous because of his “break”, but he still managed to play 12 games and was almost always huge for the Nets (27.9 points at 52%) . His new comrade James Harden is changing the register a bit, but whatever his approach and his estrangement with his best physical form, the type is still quite phenomenal and it is complicated to take away the status of All-Star .

Zach LaVine continues to progress with Chicago and has made a superb start to the season and it would not be a scandal at all for him to be accepted. Ben Simmons plays a good start to the Sixers season, but is a little further behind. Bring young has All-Star caliber, but the Hawks, like the point guard, lack consistency and serenity this season. Collin Sexton begins to point the tip of his nose, but all in good time.

FORWARDS

Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks)

Kevin Durant (Brooklyn Nets)

Joel Embiid (Philadelphia Sixers)

Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)

Domantas Sabonis (Indiana Pacers)

Bam adebayo (Miami Heat)

Nikola Vucevic (Orlando Magic)

Zero new All-Star among forwards in the East for our part. Kevin Durant is playing his first season in this Conference and has more than indisputably locked his place, with Giannis, Embiid, Tatum and Sabonis growing stronger with Indiana. Despite the Heat’s struggles, Bam Adebayo carries the team on his shoulders admirably. Finally, Nikola Vucevic is the driving force behind Magic and has made further progress in terms of the outside shoot. His return seems logical to us.

Among the ousted, we find Pascal Siakam, far from his best level with Toronto, Khris Middleton, still consistent with Milwaukee but less flashy than others that we have included, and Gordon Hayward, who is the real boss of his new team in Charlotte and should have their supporters for a spot.

Tobias Harris’ season debuts with Philly, Myles Turner with Indiana and even Jerami Grant with the Pistons, bring them closer to the idea of an All-Star and they don’t miss him a lot. thing.

They can still make us change our mind

Guards : Zach LaVine (Chicago Bulls), Ben Simmons (Philadelphie Sixers), Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks), Julius Randle (New York Knicks), Collin Sexton (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Forwards : Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks), Gordon Hayward (Charlotte Hornets), Tobias Harris (Philadelphie Sixers),  Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors), Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers), Jerami Grant (Detroit Pistons)

All-Star Game: No match, but votes anyway, unless
