MISANO – The new Petronas Yamaha SRT Team racer, Andrea Dovizioso start the race MotoGP San Marino 2021 from the last position or from the order of 24th. For Dovizioso, who is usually at the forefront, it felt very strange to have to start from the tail position.
Dovizioso said starting from 24th position was really a strange experience in his career in MotoGP. But according to him it doesn’t matter after all, he is currently studying Yamaha motorcycles.
Dovizioso’s current target is not where to finish, but to understand the YZR-M1 bike. He, who was newly recruited by Yamaha, inevitably had to quickly adapt to their motorbikes in order to appear competitive before the 2021 season ended.

Dovizioso, who started the race from the 24th position, admitted that he was able to follow the drivers in front of him. However, Dovizioso made a mistake and had to be punished for a long lap penalty.
The punishment then made him even more left behind from the group in front of him. The moment was then used to understand the motor better.
Because with Dovizioso who is already far behind, he can focus on getting to know the YZM-M1 motorbike without any distractions from other racers. So far the former Ducati racer is quite happy with his lap time.
