The winter sales are now well underway and they are far from being limited to clothing. The internet box packages of certain operators are also sold at bargain prices. This is particularly the case at SFR and Orange, which each offer their fiber optic boxes at bargain prices. Indeed, fiber is tending to democratize, thanks to the France Very High Speed plan implemented under the government of François Hollande. More and more households are now becoming eligible for this technology. Now is a good time to switch from ADSL to fiber with promotions from Internet service providers.
Fiber optic at SFR is from € 19 per month for a year
At SFR, optical fiber is currently being promoted. In fact, the red operator’s internet box package, usually priced at € 38 per month, is available at € 19 / month only. This discount therefore represents a saving of € 228 all year round. However, this promotional rate is only valid for one year. Another direct consequence of this reduction, this internet box package is only available with a 12-month commitment. That said, it is nevertheless possible to cancel your subscription before the price doubles. What is the content made available by the SFR fiber box?
First, the red operator’s internet box package, it’s very high speed internet with a theoretical speed of 400 Mb / s in uploads as in download for those eligible for fiber optics. This is more than enough to be able to enjoy the Internet on a daily basis. Regarding fixed telephony, the latter is unlimited to landlines in Métropole, but also internationally. These are 100 destinations, the list of which is available on the SFR website, which are included in this internet box package.
Finally, SFR also provides a TV box giving access to 160 TV channels. These channels are therefore accessible on TV, but also on tablet, smartphone or computer. SFR’s offer can also be supplemented via the TV packages of the Internet service provider. Thanks to the partnership with the RMC Sport channel, it is possible to have access to all the TV channels in the bouquet, and this directly on its SFR box. It will be necessary to add 9 € additional on commitment or 15 € for the offer without commitment.
The SFR internet box package at least 50% in a few lines is :
- very high speed with a maximum 400 Mb / s upstream speed and down through the SFR fiber network;
- unlimited fixed telephony to Metropolitan France and internationally;
- SFR TV and its 160 channels;
- € 228 savings over 12 months.

The Orange Fiber Livebox is an internet box and € 228 savings
The second promotion allowing access to optical fiber and its very high speed is marketed by Orange. The historic telecoms operator effectively offers two versions of its fiber optic boxes, the Livebox Fiber and the Livebox Up Fiber, with another € 19 discount per month. The first internet box package is priced at € 22.99 for 12 months instead of the usual € 41.99.
As for the second internet box, it currently costs € 30.99 per month, still for 12 months, against € 49.99 outside of the promotional period. Note that these two internet boxes are only available on a 12-month contract. In addition, at the end of this same period, the monthly payment will go up to its usual rate of respectively € 41.99 and € 49.99 per month. However, it is possible to cancel your subscription before seeing the price of your box go up.
The Fiber Livebox, available at € 22.99 per month, this is a maximum of 400 Mb / s of up and down speed. This internet box promotion package also gives access to fixed telephony. Calls to landlines in France, the overseas departments and around 100 international destinations are unlimited. The same is true for calls to mobiles from the USA and Canada. Finally, the Fiber Livebox, it’s also the Orange TV’s 160 channels available through the incumbent operator’s TV box.
The Livebox Up Fiber offers more or less the same services, but with a better quality speed. The flow maximum descending explodes to reach 2 Gb / s per device. As to upstream speed, it goes to 600 Mb / s maximum. Fixed telephony includes the same advantages as Fiber Livebox, but with unlimited calls to mobiles in mainland France, the French overseas departments and Europe. Finally, Orange TV and its 160 channels are naturally included in this internet box package.
The Orange Fiber Livebox can thus be summarized as: :
- Very high speed internet with 400 Mb / s at 1 Gb / s in download depending on the offer chosen;
- unlimited calls to landlines in mainland France, the French overseas departments and abroad, with, in addition, unlimited calls to mobiles in mainland France, the French overseas departments and Europe for the Up version;
- Orange TV and its 160 TV channels;
- 240 € minimum savings.
