These changes are proposed at a time when the question of how to deal with the increase in real estate tax (RET) after the introduction of the new cadastral values ​​has become topical at the government level.

As reported, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš (JV) has stated that in order not to increase the population’s expenses due to changes in cadastral values, REN rates must be reduced. At the same time, Kariņš added that the REN rates will be reviewed before the new cadastral values ​​come into force.

LETA has already reported that before that, the Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns (JKP) has stated that he is determined not to forward the new cadastral values ​​developed by the State Land Service to the government if the government does not support the abolition of the NIN for primary housing proposed by the Ministry of Justice. amount.

Atis Zakatistovs, the parliamentary secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the chairman of the Saeima faction of “KPV LV”, assessed this Bordan proposal as populist in the Latvian Radio program “Krustpunkts”.
