KOMPAS.com – Oppo has just launched the Reno5 mobile series in Indonesia, Tuesday (12/1/2021). As previously reported, Oppo has not only launched one Reno5 model in the country.

Oppo Reno5 will be accompanied by Reno5 5G and Reno5 F. Reno5 5G is the Oppo mobile phone with 5G connectivity that is marketed in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno5 F is the Reno5 cellphone that is sold specifically in the Indonesian market.

In the launch of Reno5 which was broadcast live on YouTube Oppo Indonesia, Oppo also announced the launch schedule for the two devices.

“We will launch the Reno5 series family consisting of Reno5, Reno5 5G in February, and Reno5 F in April,” explained Marvel Sun, Product Manager of Oppo Indonesia at the end of the presentation of the launch of the Oppo Reno5.

Hierarchically, the Reno F is the model with the most affordable price tag in the Reno series. Oppo has also released the Reno F model in Indonesia before, when it released the Reno2 line a few years ago.

As for the Reno5 5G, Oppo Indonesia’s PR Manager, Aryo Meidianto confirmed that the Reno5 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset. But about other specifications, Aryo is still silent.

Oppo has not revealed the launch date of the two devices. Aryo Meidianto, PR Manager of Oppo Indonesia, said he wanted to introduce Reno5 as soon as possible.

However, there are obstacles that come from external parties. As a result, the launch of the Reno5 5G had to be delayed by about a month.

“But there are problems from other places, which in fact the device still cannot be produced,” said Aryo.

When asked whether the constraints in question were related to CEIR, Aryo did not deny it. Around the end of September 2020, the engine Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), which the government uses to enter IMEI data for handheld devices, is reportedly almost full.

This has made it difficult for a number of cellphone vendors to enter their product IMEI data. The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) said that the government will increase the capacity of CEIR machines in the first quarter of this year.

The capacity of the machine, which was originally 1.2 billion IMEI numbers, will be increased to 2 billion.
However, the Ministry of Communication and Information has not yet announced the exact date for the increase in engine capacity.
