Operation Enfant Soleil: $ 18,000 for the Thetford Mines hospital

Opération Enfant Soleil recently announced the amounts that will be given to six health establishments in the Chaudière-Appalaches region for carrying out projects and purchasing equipment.

At the Thetford Mines hospital, an amount of $ 18,000 will be awarded. This will finance the purchase of a treatment stretcher allowing the children to be installed safely for ENT examinations. A portion of the amount donated will also be used to purchase two syringe pump pumps that make drug administration safer for children. To date, $ 584,125 has been donated to Thetford by the organization.

In all, the six grants in Chaudière-Appalaches will total $ 105,400. This will make it possible in particular to treat children close to their home and avoid transferring them to specialized centers.

“A child who is close to home always heals better. On behalf of the staff and the children of the region, thank you. If we did not have this equipment, we would not be able to provide good clinical follow-up with them, ensure that they are safe and allow their parents to be with them here ”, testifies Annick Payeur, Chief of the mother-child / pediatric unit, Beauce sector.

Finally, note that the next Telethon will take place on May 30, live from the Théâtre Capitole in Quebec.
